“Education is a once in a lifetime opportunity to open children’s hearts and minds to the unbelievable wonders of the universe”.

Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School Kotekar organized orientation programme for students from Grade IV to X on 22 nd of June 2023 in the school premises.

There is a famous quote on Character and Value, “If wealth is lost, nothing is lost: if health is lost, something is lost; when a character is lost, all is lost”. Having moral values means having a strong roots. For the trees, having a healthy root means having healthy leaves and branches. And for the people having a strong root of healthy values means having good thoughts and healthy life.

Keeping this in mind, the orientation pragramme was conducted by the Carmelite Brothers Br. Pranay Periera, Hilary Rodrigues, Alwin DSouza, Movin Periera, Prithesh Crasta, Jesvin Tom Benoy, Elston Monteiro, Stin George, Stany Pinto, Loy Crasta, Avith Pais from Infant Jesus Shrine Bikarnakatte.

They began the day with action song -“Good morning my dear friends how are you this morning”? In theirmotivation talk, they explained personalitydevelopment is about building your capacities, nurturing your talents, enhancing new skills, working about your weaknesses. 6 Good habits and some values were taught during the session,Moral values are important component of any individual’s character and they should be nurtured right from childhood. The importance of teaching values to children is that it helps them to choose the right way. It gives a child the right direction which helps them to feel accepted and respected by others in society as well as stressedabout all humanbeings are created.To improve the general knowledge quiz competitionwas conducted and prizes were distributed.

The event proved to be a very fruitful one and students enjoyed the day along with self reflection. Hrithvi of Grade X thanked the team for their valuable input.
