Kannada Rajyotsava, also known as Karnataka Formation Day, is celebrated on November 1st every year to commemorate the day when Karnataka was formed as a state. It holds immense cultural and historical significance for the people of Karnataka. In line with this, Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School, Kotekar, organized a vibrant and memorable celebration to pay tribute to the rich heritage and culture of Karnataka.
The auspicious proceedings of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration were initiated with a heartfelt invocation to the Almighty. Students from Grade V A led the gathering in a soulful prayer, seeking divine blessings for the success and harmony of the event.
The students of Grade V emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the Kannada language and culture in their inspiring inaugural address.
The highlight of the day was a captivating cultural extravaganza featuring a diverse range of performances by our talented students. The program showcased classical and folk dances like Suggi kunitha and Bharatanatyam, reflecting the rich tapestry of Karnataka's traditional arts.
Additionally, melodious renditions of Kannada songs and thought-provoking skits were performed, leaving the audience enthralled.
Notable guests, including the School Principal, Sr. Jacintha Desa, Chief guest Mrs. Janet, Kannada teacher and Coordinator, Sr. Ashwina D Almeida, graced the occasion with their presence.
The Chief Guest Ms Janet emphasized the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava as fostering a sense of unity and pride among Kannadigas. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, instilling a renewed sense of appreciation for our cultural heritage.
The program was emceed by Rishab and Lanvi Sanjana Saldanha of Grade V A .Manvi and Sathik welcomed the gathering and Manayatha extended heartfelt gratitude to the audience.
