The Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School Kotekar celebrated World Tourism Day with great enthusiasm on October 6th, 2023. This global celebration, initiated by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), aims to raise awareness about the vital role tourism plays in cultural exchange, economic development, and international understanding.
The event began with a prayer song performed by Grade III students. The program was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Vishal Nayak, Assistant Professor in the Department of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Journalism and Mass Communication. Sr. Jacintha Desa, the Principal, and Mrs. Sunila, the School Counselor, were also present.
The Grade III students delighted the audience with a choreographed dance, showcasing their synchronized strides. Pramith and Shreshta emphasized the significance of responsible tourism and encouraged students to explore diverse cultures while preserving our natural heritage.
The young actors took the audience on an enchanting journey through the world of tourism, with their skit serving as a vivid passport to adventure. Students delivered insightful presentations on their travel experiences, highlighting the profound impact of exploring new destinations on personal growth and global understanding.
In his speech, Mr. Vishal Nayak, the Chief Guest, emphasized that embarking on explorations not only sets our minds free but also grants us the gift of relaxation. Wherever our journey takes us, let's leave a trail of cleanliness behind, preserving the beauty of every place we visit. A family tour promises cherished moments and unforgettable adventures.
Devna and Thahir of Grade III welcomed the gathering, while Hisham, Mashoora, Moulya, and Rakshan served as emcees for the program. The event was flawlessly executed, leaving everyone enriched with valuable experiences.
